NaNoWriMo 2020 + The Land of Dreams Series

 Hello!

I thought I'd do NaNoWriMo again this year, despite being busier than ever at work. Last year was my first time doing it and while I already had about 5000 words written of a story, I ended up with a completed story with a total of 77000+ words.

I'm someone who does well under pressure (despite hating being under pressure), but NaNo made it fun. This year I'm part of a writing group with a few Wattpad employees and well-known writers on the platform and I've convinced a few ti give it a go. Having friends on NaNoWriMo is a great idea because you can see their progress and they can see yours, so it's a great way of feeling like you're being held accountable to write.

I'm approaching the end of my 2019 NaNoWriMo novel "Apollo's Prophecy" on Wattpad. As I mentioned before, the novel was completed last year, but I did do a quick edit to get rid of the glaring spelling errors. Since the Spring I've been uploading one chapter each week to Wattpad. Below is the cover image:

While my audience on the platform has severely depleted from my 'golden' days and I was very nervous and conscious at the start, I did manage to collect a small group of wonderful and supportive readers who made me realize how much I missed posting on the platform. They stuck around, even during a three (possibly four) week hiatus when I was moving and preparing for my wedding.

Now my plan is to write book two in the 'Immortal Love' series. I'm going to keep them up on Wattpad for free, but I also want to see if I could polish it up, include the mature scenes that aren't on Wattpad, and self-publish for a dollar on Amazon to see if people like it enough to purchase a copy.

2020 was a big year for my books. I released the second AND third novels in my "The Land of Dreams" series, two years after publishing the first. I finally created a banner with all three books on it for social media.

Isn't that fun?

Anyway, check out my "The Land of Dreams" series on Amazon, and all of the other places you can purchase it!

I hope to do weekly blog post or video updates talking about NaNo so I'll be sure to share that information here!

Happy writing!

Once Upon A Storm is Available!

Hello!

If you're subscribed to my author newsletter, you will have seen that I shared my cover and blurb a few weeks back! This past Sunday the book was released so please go check it out!

After five years of normalcy, Annabella and Zach are about to embark on the next chapter of their adult lives. Hours after moving into their new home, their past literally turns up, revealing that The Land of Dreams' problems are far from over.

From hiding their true identities to navigating through a magical world where several decades have passed, Annabella and Zach are determined to complete the story they thought had ended long ago. As if the mysterious disappearance of Prince Jeremy and several villagers wasn't enough, the magical storybook that started it all might not be a stand-alone work after all. Through love and loss, Annabella and Zach are setting out on a new adventure to save The Land of Dreams with far greater obstacles than ever before.

New Books Coming!

Hello,

It's been years since my last update so I doubt anyone is still subscribed to this blog, but in case you are I wanted to say hello! I'm back and have completed The Land of Dreams series. I plan on releasing book two this summer and ideally I'll release book three this fall.

Where have I been for the past two years? Let's just say I'm the type of person who doesn't know how to only take one thing on at a time. After releasing Once Upon A Tear, I was slowly working on book two, but with my career progressing well to getting engaged that same year, to moving yet again, I fell behind and stopped writing for over a year.

2019 was just as busy. We moved again and wedding planning was in full swing. My career continued progressing as well, but I was determined to completing book two and sent it out to be edited. Unfortunately, Patchwork Press no longer exists, but I was lucky enough to have book two edited before that happened. Within a few months it was October and I had completed book three while saving up for two covers. I spent the next few months editing book three a few times (and I completed a full novel during NaNoWriMo, Apollo's Prophecy, which is available to read on Wattpad for free with weekly updates!) and by the time I was ready to get ti edited, Patchwork Press was finished.

Back to the cover editing. I LOVE my original cover, but due to the wedding, getting a new very large puppy and saving for a house, we couldn't fit it into our budget. I scraped together all of the affiliate money I made from my blogging and after many months of scouring the internet for the same font and model used for book one, I finally located them and purchased the licensing fees for them. I also found a ton of free for commercial use elements and worked hard to create covers for the last two books. They don't look anywhere near as good as Kat's design for book one, but I'd like to think I did an ok job for not being a graphic designer.

Anyway, I'm in the process of formatting book two and figuring out all of the annoying pieces of getting it self-published. Thankfully before Patchwork Press closed, I was able to get ISBN codes for the last two books, as well as Apollo's Prophecy (the book on Wattpad) and I can still use the publisher name so it looks consistent. Technically it was written while they were still operating and without them the books would never have been completed so I want them to have credit where its due.

Once I'm closer to having the book ready to publish, I'll update you (and the few people subscribed to my newsletter) with a cover reveal and hopefully a blurb reveal. I swear it takes me longer to write a blurb than it does to write an entire novel.

I'm too awkward to end a post like a normal person would so I'm just going to go. Here's a picture of my puppy when I first got her (her name is Sophie and she has an instagram @sophie.the.newfoundland

I hope to see you soon with the cover reveal!
